In between Mediterranean and Italian Styles Gateway
Last month, I attended the Office Team Meeting, an official gathering between Jakarta, Lombok, and Palu staff. There is plenty of options for the accommodation in Senggigi, yet due to security and safety reasons, and changing the atmosphere, I advised the team to stay in Svarga Resort Hotel (
http://svargaresort.com/en/). The hotel was built by Relife Property, which is one of the managers of the Relife was actually the former Chief of Student Executive Body, Gari Primananda, one of my friends in college.
The hotel has this unique concept of Mediterranean style structure, which makes it outstanding compared to the other hotels nearby. But, prepare not to break your legπ
, literally. The hotel has six steps or platforms where the rooms are located. If you are planning to bring your parents or kids with you, I would suggest taking the front rooms in Unit or Block 2 or 3. The hotel does not have a proper elevator, instead, they only have a small service lift which is more look likely a window cleaning lift that goes from the lower level to upper level and with no stop in between the levels. The lifts can only fit for 3 to 4 people with a maximum 500 kg loading capacity. Most staff decided to take the stairs instead of the lift, break a leg for them π.

I stayed in Room 202, which is located in front of and near the lobby. The bedroom is quite ok, and the bathroom is in style with an outdoor standing shower. You have to look carefully around you, sometimes the hotel staff is climbing the trees to harvest the coconut. Surely you do not want to be exposed to them in the nudity mode πΏ π.

Spending 5 days in this hotel, I could not bear with the foods which were mostly spicy and boring. The hotel is Halal certified, which means that they do not serve any alcohol. The foods in the hotel restaurant are pricey and do not fit with my tongue or stomach. I decided to go outside and ate in other places, like in Kayu Manis Rooftop Cafe in Aruna Senggigi Hotel (see my blog on this hotel in
https://familygateway.blogspot.com/2019/09/lombok-halal-tourism-destination.html) or in Pasta Pojok (see
https://pastapojok.com/). I am officially addicted to pasta after visiting the Pasta Pojok. I would say that this is the best Italian Cafe by far. The service is excellent, and the foods are extraordinary.

The Pasta Pojok owned by Indonesian-Italian couple, they made the pasta from scratch and use the only fresh ingredients. You can indulge yourself with a complete or full-service menu start from 150k IDR or around 10 USD. I had a Cornetti (Italian Croissant) filled with vanilla custard, Lemongrass Ice Tea, Svuotini Tricolore Ai Frutti di Mare, and Cappucino.

I went back to this cafe and dragged my colleague, Ranjit Jose who happens to have a similar tongue on culinary like I am. We spent around 400k IDR or 30USD for a feast meal and still able to carry some leftover foods from our dinner. This cafe will be my regular stop at the end of the month starting now ☕πππ
