A Family Staycation and Wedding Anniversary during Pandemic

Century Park Hotel, Jakarta: A Family Staycation Hotel Review (1) 

Surprise, it has been months since my last post in this blog. A quick updates on my life: I landed a job in a regional disaster management coordination center, our mentor is now pregnant with her first child, now I have my second nephew born 8 months ago, and losing some good friends and family members during this COVID-19 battle. Since I have spend the last 7 months working from home and had less social interaction with the people outside, so I decided to take my family for a staycation. It was a good timing as I celebrated my 11th wedding anniversary on this month.  

It was a bit challenging to find a hotel that fulfilled my criteria as a safe gate away destination, especially during this pandemic situation. I took note for the hotel to have a standard of safety and hygiene, definitely a 3 or 4 star hotel, accessible,  offered a family package, and of course affordable. After browsing here and there, I decided to book 3 rooms (2 Executive and 1 Suite) for our family, my mom and her assistant, and my sister and her kids in Century Park Hotel. This hotel has a quite long reputation and one of the oldest hotel in Jakarta. Despite of its old age,the hotel staff shows their best services and always in patience in serving their guests.

Our Junior Suite is large, with King Bed, office desk, and a lounge sofa that is so comfy i even fell asleep here instead sleeping in the room. The suite has 2 bathrooms: one with the bathtube and the other one is shower. The Executive Room is also large and comfy with 2 seated sofa. If you happen to bring your kids and family with you, i have no doubt that they will enjoy the extra space and comfortness in the room.

Century Park Hotel is located in South Jakarta, across the Senayan Stadium. Since December 2020 until end of 2021, the hotel offers a staycation package with the price that already include Vat and Service Charge. The room rates start from:
1. IDR 575,000/USD 41 for the Deluxe Room,
2. IDR 675,000/USD 48 for the Executive Room,
3. IDR 825,000/IDR 59 for the the Premium Room,  
4. IDR 1,100,000/USD 79 for the Junior Suite, 
5. IDR 2,300,000/USD 164 for the Century Suite, and
6. IDR 3,300,000/USD 236 for the Presidential Suite.

The room rates are inclusive for 2 kind of family activities and late check out until 4 PM. For those who are planning to spend the entire days only in the hotel, you can take additional activities package (exclude the 2 choices of activities that already included in your room package). I would recommend to take the painting and pizza cooking, they are so much fun.

For the cooking class, you will be assisted with Chef Bento and Chef Hadi...either for the pizza,cupcakes,or cookies making. They will give you a box of these ingredients as well a cute apron, plus not only you can take home your own foods,but they will also package the remains ingredients and give you an extra food bonus to go with. 

The pool in this hotel is also nice, and does not make your skin dry and itchy. Means that they really do care about the pool treatment. There is only 1 pool with average depth 1 meter to 2 meter. You have to take extra precaution if you bring your kids to swim. Because they only put marking in the rear surface floor. I nearly experienced drown when my 6 years old kid starting to panic and jump right over my shoulder because of the deep. He can swim, but really need to adapt with the pool at first. 

In overall i will give this hotel 8 out of 10 for its services. The minus of this hotel is that you have limited choices of food because of their lounge and restaurant are not serving buffet or closed during the day and in the evening due to COVID-19 that enforce the social distancing and restriction. However, i enjoyed their yoghurt and coffee from their Kedai Cafe at the Ground Floor, near the lobby entrance. So, either to eat outside or order some delivery foods inside, if you feel boring with their same menus. I definately will stay in this hotel another time.
